Financial Disclosure and Transparency
You may be aware that Edmonton council candidates are required to file two fundraising disclosure forms this election cycle: an Interim Disclosure Form that lists all donations up to July 31st (submitted by September 30th) and their final Disclosure Form, which can be submitted as late as March 2nd, 2026. Although residents will eventually get a detailed breakdown of every campaign’s donations and contributions, they won’t get to see it until months and months after the election is over. As someone wanting to represent Ward Nakota Isga, I find this significant gap in time and transparency to be unacceptable.
In line with my core principles of a community-driven and transparent campaign, I have listed and disclosed all of the donations above $50 that my campaign has received up to October 7th in this blog post. To ensure full transparency, I will also be posting a full list of every donation that I have received, big and small, just prior to Election Day (October 20th). Ward Nakota Isga deserves to know who is funding the campaigns of their council candidates.
If you look at this list, you will see family, friends, and community supporters from across the Edmonton area that have felt inspired to support my campaign. There’s no tricks here - no corporate donations, no union donations, no lobbyist donations and NO contributions from any municipal party. All of these donations are from regular Edmontonians who want an independent, accountable, and experienced city councillor to represent them.
I highly encourage all council candidates in Ward Nakota Isga to release a list of all of their donations prior to election day. As a resident, ask candidates whether or not they are disclosing their donations prior to election day and, if they are not, ask them why. Transparency is key to any strong democracy and I hope that we can continue to build an affordable, safe, and sustainable community together in this election.
